There was no impartial cheering at this year’s ADS Super Bowl Pep Rally. With the Philadelphia Eagles going to the Super Bowl for the first time in 14 years, the entire ADS staff and student body flooded the gymnasium decked out in Eagles logos, feathers and that all too familiar hunter green. ADS held their Super Bowl pep rallies two weeks before the NFL’s Super Bowl. The day was filled with relay races and exercises, in which two classes competed at a time.

Usually, whichever two NFL teams that are slated to appear in the Super Bowl are each represented by half of the student body. Yet, this year, only the Eagles took the stage at this year’s games. The white team and the green team represented the official colors of the Eagles. Between the relay games, there was also a half-time rally, leading with the Eagles fight song. Student Semaj even took to the mic during the evening games, to lead the crowd in Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out.”

Though both teams gave it their all through relays consisting of football tosses, field goal exercises and bowling pin knock-downs, the white team was eventually named victorious. Yet, in the end, everyone came out a winner, even the Eagles who secured their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
